Cookie
Background
Cookie came to us as an unbroken horse looking for a home. He has always been sweet-natured and laid back, but during his time with us has required significant care. He developed canker, a serious hoof condition that required intensive veterinary treatment, including surgery, long-term management, and careful rehabilitation. Thanks to that investment and ongoing rigorous hoof care, Cookie remains healthy, active, and able to enjoy his work.

About
Cookie has done a bit of everything during his time with us, with one of his biggest achievements being completing the Coast to Coast trail ride, an incredible 11-day journey across England. He is a versatile horse who suits both beginners and more advanced riders. He understands lateral work and, when he chooses, can be beautifully light and responsive. He enjoys variety in his work, mental stimulation, and plenty of time playing out in the field.
Personality Quirks
Cookie is playful and highly intelligent, often working things out for himself very quickly. He enjoys using his brain and loves learning tricks, thriving when he feels he is working in partnership rather than being told what to do. In the field, he is always up to something and keeps everyone entertained with his cheeky, playful nature.
Why we Love them
We love Cookie for his resilience as much as his personality. After undergoing a serious and high-risk operation for canker, he spent months in recovery while his hoof regrew. His journey is a testament to patience, care, and commitment. Today, he is sound, happy, and full of life, a horse who reminds us daily what is possible when you invest in their future.
